I admit it, I let Eve jump on the couch. The other day, she was once again busy jumping all over it, and I said to her “be careful!” as she slipped and landed on the cushiony part. “Sorry, Maman, I didn’t mean to fall down on your canapé (“couch” in French)”, she said.

Potty update
Posted in 2-3 years old, A sentence a day, Milestone on July 5, 2011 | 1 Comment »
Today, when I picked Eve up from daycare, her daily sheet said “Great job on the potty today.” Intrigued I asked Annie about it and learned that Eve not only peed on the potty today, but also throughout the week last week! Apparently she has been doing so well that Annie was convinced that Eve [...]

This morning, Eve woke up early and didn’t manage to put herself back to sleep. So she ended up in our bed, with both Erik and I trying to get a few more minutes of rest. We decided to watch the Princess and the Frog, not that we expected (or wanted) Eve to understand or [...]
Frère Jacques

The past few weeks, I kept thinking that Eve was singing “Frère Jacques”. She was talking in gibberish, but I could swear I recognized the melody. But since I never sing that song to her, I thought I must be imagining things. And this morning it hit me: I suddenly remembered hearing her teacher sing [...]
Pouce!

Ce matin, je coupais les ongles d’Eve et parlant tout haut, j’ai murmuré “manque plus que le POUCE”. Là, Eve a fait un petit bruit comme quand je lui demande… de POUSSER ses pieds dans ses chaussures! J’adore. This morning, I was cutting Eve’s nails, and I said out loud “and now the thumb (“pouce” [...]
Canines coming

Eve’s top canines are coming; the left one is showing already… She will have a new smile very soon (or not… not sure how long canines take; we’ve been waiting a good month for them already). Tired yet of the “sentence a day”? I’m afraid I end up writing very trivial details… Tomorrow we’re meeting [...]
Doll Story

Eve’s doll has a lazy eye… Eve tried to feed her some actual milk the other day; her baby’s eye didn’t enjoy that kind of eye drops. La poupée d’Eve a un oeil qui part en vrille. Eve a essayé de lui faire boire du vrai lait l’autre jour, et l’oeil de son bébé n’a [...]
A sentence a day

I was reading an article from savvy source this morning about “Keeping track of time’s passing”. Since I find myself running all the time ever since I started working (part-time, from home – and still running, somehow), forgetting to take pictures and neglecting the blog, I thought I would give a shot to their suggestion [...]
