Eve’s first Easter egg hunt was really fun. I didn’t think she would get the egg hunt thing, but with a little help, she did and then, she was on a roll. My high school friend Séverine was there, with her partner and her daughter Hannah, who’s only one month younger than Eve. They were [...]

First haircut!

Eve got her first haircut yesterday, at Cool Tops in Rockridge! It took exactly five minutes, which was good because Eve didn’t like it. I was hoping the horse would do the trick, but when she noticed the hairdresser touching her hair, she started crying. The hairdresser was nice enough to only charge us for [...]

Trip to the Little Farm in Berkeley… Eve loved feeding the animals with lettuce and celery graciously handed to her by other people (we’ll know for next time… you gotta bribe those guys to get their attention).

The day I’ve been longing for has arrived. Eve is helping with the cleaning. Video (in the picture, she’s once again emptying my bag). Le jour tant attendu est arrivé. Eve nous aide avec le ménage. Vidéo (sur la photo, elle est à nouveau en train de vider mon sac… un de ses jeux favoris [...]

Last weekend, Eve started standing up on her own for short periods of time. She still mostly holds on to things, but in the past few days, she’s also practiced walking. Her chair seems to have helped her (thank you, Mary!). A couple of weeks ago, she was falling from it on purpose, which was [...]

Last Sunday, we went to the Aquarium of the Bay, in San Francisco. Erik and I like aquariums, and since Eve had started showing interest in animals, we figured she might at least be intrigued by fish. She seemed to enjoy looking at them. The Aquarium has some nice exhibits, especially the jelly fish ones. [...]
Potty Training

For the first time, Eve peed in the potty this morning! As I mentioned before, I read “Diaper Free Before Three“. I really liked this book. It comforted me into getting Eve on the potty starting now on a regular basis. I found the chapter on the history of potty training enlightening and the chapter [...]

AZ Part 5: Merry-Go-Round

On Sunday, we met Susan and Ray for lunch at Arizona Mills before our flight back. We initially wanted to go to the new aquarium but the line was too long. There was a Merry-Go-Round there. I didn’t expect it, but Eve absolutely loved it. We could only tell by her reaction once it was [...]
